The fastest way to change something on this site is to name the figure that is wrong and the document that contradicts it.

The form

What you send is stored in a database in the United Kingdom and read there. It is not sent or received by email; the system only notifies the operator that a submission exists. Details of what is collected and kept are on the privacy page.

For a correction: the claim, and the document that contradicts it. For a tip: enough to point at the public record, not documents you are not free to share. Maximum 5,000 characters.

Why there is no email address on this page

Correspondence with a site like this one is not ordinary post. A correction request identifies an error before it is public. A right-of-reply exchange contains a company's response before it is published. A tip about job cuts can identify the person who sent it. None of that belongs in a mailbox hosted outside the United Kingdom, and this site's mail is. So the route in is the form above, and what you send stays in a UK-region database.

Corrections

Substantive errors are corrected in the article, with a dated note, and logged permanently in the corrections log. Corrections to the ledger dataset are logged there too. We do not quietly edit the record.

Right of reply

If you are a company, or a person named in a piece, and you want to respond, use the form and say so: the exchange is recorded, what was put to you, when, and what came back, and the record is kept whether you reply or not.

Legal

Complaints about accuracy are handled as corrections, and we would much rather hear from you early than late. Formal correspondence should identify the specific words complained of and why they are said to be inaccurate.
